Food is served on banana leaf
I am fan of restaurants who serve food on banana leaf. Eating on banana leaf has several health benefits and you also get to eat on a plate (banana leaf) which has never been used by anyone before :). You will also feel that you are doing bit for environment as well. |
Bhojanam/Andhra meals - Taste - 5/5
Meals is served on banana leaf with andhra chutney, 2 appalam, 1 veg palya, pappu, unlimited white rice, curd, butter milk, payasam, rasam and sambar.
Rice is served pipping hot, you can opt for ghee on your rice, I often ask for 1-2 spoons of ghee for each serving of rice. Andhra meals is best recommended to be eaten with your hand, I prefer eating with my hand. I used to mix the rice with ghee, the aroma of ghee mixed rice is an appetizer booster. I then used to mix the ghee rice with pappu and eat it. It tasted fantabulous. I used to take about spoonful portion of pappu rice, add some palya to it, add some appalam, chutney, add a piece of chicken roast and eat. Just writing about the experience is making my mouth water. I ate slowly relishing every bite, enjoying the taste of pappu rice with other wonderful ingredients. I repeated at least 2 more servings of white rice and pappu. White rice mixed with ghee and pappu is my most favorite. Pappu was the best...the ulitmate invention in andhra cuisine..
I had some portion of rice with sambar, it tasted fine. Tried their rasam and buttermilk with rice as well. I was so full till throat that I could have the curd. But I did have the payasam, the sweet dish served as good ending to the wholesome meal |

| Nagarjuna chicken roast - boneless |

Nagarjuna chicken roast - Taste - 3/5
This was the day's special, it was boneless pieces of chicken roasted with ghee, pepper, curry leaves and some spices. I did not like this much, it was bit on the dryer side and did not have any juices. Also I felt the quantity was less. The plate had more of fried curry leaves, carrots, lemon pieces and onions compared to the chicken pieces. The taste was average.. |
Ambience - 3.5/5
The moment you enter the restaurant you will know this an andhra restaurant. Standard decor found at most andhra style eateries. It is about two storey building, they have enough seating. They get constant flow of customers, lot of people waiting as well. I guess it is a favorite among families. I consider this place has high end andhra mess.
Service - 4/5
Service is great, they have sea of people serving the guests. They have different people assigned for doing different duties. One guy for taking the order, one guy for laying the banana leaf, one guy for serving the rice, for serving ghee, for serving additional servings of pappu, veg palya etc. If you need anything, you just have to call out and you get it like magic. You don't have to wait much. |

Value for money - 3.5/5
I felt the place is little on the higher side, veg meals and one chicken starter would cost you about Rs. 500/- But if you just have meals or chicken biryani you meal should be done in about Rs. 300/-

Overall Verdict - 4/5
Highly recommended place for family eat out for andhra cuisine |
